When David Arita first opened The Carpet Shoppe in Kalihi in 1974, his biggest concerns were building the business and taking care of his five employees. Kaya’s Store is a charming country store located in Punalu’u, Oahu for the last 75 years. Started in 1946, it is a family business known for their delicious plate lunches and island snacks like butter mochi. Kaya’s Store has been supporting children in Hawaii for many years. Family Programs Hawaii is especially near and dear to their hearts for helping children and families involved with foster care.
