Respite Program
The Respite Program provides families with a break from the ongoing responsibilities of parenting children in out of home care. Respite strengthens family cohesiveness, parent-child communication and awareness and access to resources in the community.
Eligibility:
- Families that qualify for Department of Human Services (DHS) respite funds
- Families that have utilized DHS paid respite or 10 days and are still in need of respite
Location: O‘ahu
Services:
- Consultation and assessment of resource families and respite providers
- Recruit resource families in need of respite
- Coordinate and match resource families and respite care providers
- Connect resource families with support services
- Provide respite care reimbursement ($25/day per child up to 10 days)
