Hawaii Adoption Resources

Helping Families in Hawaii Adopt Children

Family Programs Hawaii’s Hawaii Adoption Resources (HAR) program focuses on adoption readiness and adoption preparedness. We provide affordable home studies and support to families wishing to adopt children from Hawaii or the mainland. Additionally HAR also offers fee-for-service post placement and post adoption services to families to assist in ensuring successful placement.

Goals:
• Increase access to adoption by providing affordable adoption services to families in Hawaii
• Increase permanency resources for children awaiting adoption in foster care by facilitating adoption preparation for families interested in adopting from the foster care system Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Program
• Provide quality training and support services that strengthen family functioning and increase family awareness of the unique aspects of adoption
