Caring for the Caregiver

Sharon Simms, MSW has worked in the field of social work for over 12 years, primarily in the areas of foster care and child welfare. She focuses on children and families involved with the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Services, the Office of Youth Services, and the Department of Health’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division. Sharon has trained human services professionals, trainers, and resource caregivers throughout the State of Hawaii.
This training will help to:
-Enhance your knowledge of the impact that fostering children who have experienced trauma has on you and your family.
-Assist you in developing strategies to create better balance in your life.
Free training open to all resource, adoptive, guardianship, and kinship families. Dinner will be provided at 5:00pm. Childcare will be provided for registered children ages 3-12, based on availability. Training and childcare will begin at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm.
