The Annual Conference for Resource Families and Service Providers, ”Fostering CommUNITY: Connecting Our ‘Ohana” will be held throughout the state in May. Guest Speakers include: Dr. Kimo Alameda, Laurie Jicha, and Lynne Kazama. This conference is open to all resource, guardianship, adoptive, and kinship families. Come join us for an open and candid discussion that will inspire and challenge participants to:
- Promote healthy attachment, development, well-being, and positive adjustment to placement through
Visitation—‘Ohana Time - Understand the benefits and purpose of Visitation—‘Ohana Time for children in foster care, birth families, and resource families
- Learn how to supervise Visitation—‘Ohana Time in a way that maintains safety and is productive to both the families and children
- Look at the perspectives of the child, birth parent(s), resource caregiver(s), and social worker on Visitation—‘Ohana Time through a panel discussion.
